ArtAuction03 – From Traditional to New Media, a Live & SilentAuction benefiting the Coalition on Homelessness, San Francisco

“ArtAuction03,” a party and live art auction to raise funds for the Coalition on Homelessness, features approximately 150 pieces of art donated by homeless, established, and emerging artists from around the Bay Area. Reception 5:30 p.m., auction 7 p.m., SomArts Cultural Center gallery, 934 Brannan, S.F. $25. (415) 346-3740, ext. 304.

Emilio Aviles, COH’s Community Development Coordinator, is excited about the event. “There will be over 150 works of original art generously donated by local and national artists including: Eric Drooker, Winston Smith, Christine Hanlon, Roberta Loach, Casper Banjo, Ed Gould, Art Hazelwood, Jose Sierra and Emiliano Noe.”

The Coalition on Homelessness, San Francisco unites homeless people and front-line service agency staff to create permanent solutions to homelessness. The COH-SF is made up of homeless and formerly homeless people, representatives of over fifty local service, shelter and housing providers, advocacy groups, and neighborhood and religious organizations. The Coalition is unique among anti-poverty organizations because it involves homeless and formerly homeless people in all levels of the organization and decision-making processes, from our Board of Directors to our frontline staff.
